The Visigoths liked jewellery so much that contemporary commentators remarked how they loved to wear necklaces, bracelets and rings on every finger.

They used Greek and Roman techniques of fine metal work, stamping and the addition of semi-precious stones, using all kinds of more or less noble materials, such as gold, silver, bronze or glass.

They also extended their application of this craft to their religious practices.
