The Spanish Moon Moth is one the most beautiful moths found in the region. Discovered by Mariano de la Paz Graells in the mid 19th century, it eats the leaves of certain pine trees and lives in mountainous areas. The male and female are slightly different. The moth can be found in Pla de l'Estany, which is where the four moths of the Darder Museum were collected. The Darder Exhibition includes three showcases, with native and exotic athropods, butterflies and moths.
