Built early in 1937, at the height of the Spanish Civil War, the arsenal and powder magazine of Sabadell airport was used to store bombs and munition for the Republican air force (Polikarpov airplanes I-15). It consists of a U-shaped subterranean concrete gallery  with two entrances that still retain the iron safety doors. It is 112m in length, with a surface area of 240m2, and lies at a depth of 14m below the aerodrome level. When it was no longer in use, between 1950 and 1980, it was used to cultivate mushrooms.
