Discovered in the castellum of Sant Julià de Ramis (Girona) in 2000, this little jug was found in a small room beneath a section that had collapsed naturally following the abandon of the site between 713 and 717. 

The jug is made of bronze and was recovered complete. It is slim and spindle-shaped. There is a band around the neck in which the following inscription was engraved with a burin in elegant, clear text:
+ SINDE + ARES BITA D S 
which can be read as:
+Sinde +Ares bita D(eus) o D(ominus) s(eruet)
and translated as:
(That) the Lord (or God) (pre)serve the life of +Sinde (and) +Ares
