Diana, Roman goddess of the hunt and woodland, is depicted with a marked Mediterranean quality. Unlike the classical sculptures, it is characterised by a simplification of forms, distancing it from the ornamentation and stylisation of the figure. The sculptor wished to capture the movement and muscular tension in the figure and shows us a naked Diana with a mantle covering her shoulders. The objects that cause the tension in her body, a bow and arrow, are also missing.
