Provincial Government of Tarragona Modern Art Museum.

The Modern Art Museum was established by the Tarragona Provincial Government in 1976 to foster the study and appreciation of modern and contemporary art and to conserve and display the institution’s own artistic heritage. The museum, which also has a library, a documentation centre and a photograph archive, is in the Upper Part of Tarragona in a building made up of three adjoining 18th century houses that were refurbished by the architect Jaume Mutlló. The structurally renovated and restored building we see today was inaugurated in 1991. In 2008 the permanent exhibition was renewed with a new museographic project that adds an important educational aspect to the presentation of the collections.
