Religious painting:
Thanks to the support of the Sabadell industrialist Francesc de Paula Ponsà, Antoni Estruch (Sabadell, 1872 – Buenos Aires, 1957) remained abroad for eight years, in Rome, Paris and Palestine. During this time his painting drew on historical and religious themes. He painted a series of large format pieces on the life of Jesus to decorate the house of the Ponsà family, with interesting preparatory studies that he made after sketching the landscapes of the places he visited.
