Academic education:
Education and study at the Academy were very thorough and included technical knowledge of geometry, draughtsmanship, anatomy and applications to industry or the decorative arts. The members of the Academy met to discuss art and to paint, the teachers trained their students in a relationship that was often very amicable.
The Llotja de Barcelona gave travel grants so that the most outstanding students could travel to Rome, Paris or Madrid, to discover the works of the great masters in the art galleries. For this reason, some paintings are copies of the originals found in other museums.
