Roman inscription on bronze dedicated to an illustrious figure from the city. Archaeology Museum of Catalonia, Empúries.

This inscription was found in 1974 in the west ambulacrum of the Roman forum in Empúries, which was the civic centre of the town and the place where the most important administrative, legal and religious bodies and buildings were located.

It is inscribed on a fragmented bronze plate the lower part of which is incomplete, and which is framed by a decorative moulding. Dedicated to Lucius Minicius Rufus, a prominent personage in Roman Empúries who held several magistrate positions in the town, the inscription reads as follows: “To Lucius Minicius Rufus, son of Lucius, aedile, duumvir, quaestor, priest of Rome and Augustus, Lucius Minicius Rufus…”.
