The Manresa 1522 Space offers an overview of the city that Ignatius of Loyola got to know during his stay of almost a year in the capital of the Bages region where, according to tradition, he began writing the Spiritual Exercises. Through various resources. such as a miniature model of Manresa in the early 16th century, an audiovisual presentation, light boxes... the visitor is given the opportunity to see the city in which the future Saint would go through a series of experiences that would deeply transform him and would confirm his mission that culminated in the Foundation of the Jesuit Order.
The space is also an invitation to get to know different sites around the city which preserve the memory of Ignatius’ footsteps, gathered together in an eye-opening itinerary.
The exhibition incorporates different artistic and architectural remains of buildings which the founder of the Jesuits knew and saw with his very own eyes.
