A 45-millimetre-diameter bronze mould for stamping the seal of the commandery of the Hospital de Barberà de la Conca. After the dissolution of the Knights Templar –the lords of Barberà de la Conca– their domains passed into the hands of the hospitaller order of St John of Jerusalem. The Barberà order owned a great deal of land in the county, including the municipalities of Pira, Pinetell and Biure de Gaià and, of course, Barberà Castle, which they possessed until the middle of the 19th century. The stamp, which is believed to be from the 15th century, has the order’s emblem, an eight-pointed cross, above a barbel.
