The Santa Maria Archive Museum is the institution which, since 1946, has safeguarded the historical, artistic and cultural heritage of the parish of Santa Maria de Mataró, the oldest in the municipal district and the most distinctive in the city until the end of the 19th century.
The rooms in Beata Maria Street, both an archive and a local study centre, include a hall for temporary exhibitions on local history, while the different sections of the Museum are distributed around different parts of the basilica: the Dolours collection, the Sala de Síntesi, the Roser Altarpiece, the section of the Saints and the Sacramental chapel, among others.
