In 2002, during restoration of the cloister, some Gothic niches were discovered that must have contained ossuaries. These niches are painted with schematic religious figures. One of these paintings portrays one or two saints and an angel who protects the soul of the deceased.
The discovery of the paintings enables us to imagine what the Romanesque cloister was like. There are sledgehammer marks on the surface of the paintings from when they were walled in, probably in the 18th century. For this reason they have not been preserved in a good state.
