The sifter is the device responsible for making the different types of flour, which could be used to make bread or feed for the animals.

The sifter consisted of a box with an entrance at the top, where the flour was poured that was collected via a channel in the mill. The flour fell into the inner drum, where a filtering mesh of various thicknesses filtered the different types of flour. The drum was powered by a system of gears that transmitted the movement of the cartridge.
