A pair of shoes is exhibited in one of the compartments of the Sevillano carriage, a symbol dedicated to the "repression of immigration in Barcelona". An interactive video presents the testimony of a traveller: "He had never brought shoes to the village, espadrilles at best, but for the trip, they left him some shoes to look like a city man so he could avoid the police cordons that were there."

Between 1952 and 1957 more than 15,000 people were deported to their places of origin, and this was due to police controls and reprisals against internal migration.
