Remains of the pond that used to preside over the garden of a house in Baetulo which was built in the late 1st century AD and probably belonged to Quintus Licinius, a member of a powerful family of patricians and the main player in a hospitality pact established with the residents of Badalona in 98 AD, contained in the tabula hospitalis.
The archaeological and botanical analyses of pollen carried out in this area have revealed what vegetation used to grow here 2,000 years ago. Among the trees, pines, holm oaks, oaks, birch and hazelnuts have been identified, while the flower species include daisies, marigolds, chrysanthemums, chamomile and wild roses.
The tour immerses visitors in the atmosphere of a Roman garden thanks to the lighting, the inclusion of sounds and a spectacular screening in augmented reality. Thus, visitors can learn about the purpose and importance of gardens to the Romans. With touch modules for the visually impaired.
