In his images Peter Klasen (Lübeck, 1935) proposes a critical reflection on the ambiguity and paradoxical nature of the world around us, questioning the balance between sensual and industrial, attraction and danger, darkness and light. In effect, he speaks of the ambiguous nature of situations and relationships.
In this intensely coloured piece, subjects like advertising photography and imagery related to cinema appear, along with the pupil that looks through a viewfinder of a rifle, and the container of dangerous substances marked with two warning signs.
