This burial urn found at the Can Missert necropolis (Terrassa) contains cinerary remains. Cremation was introduced as a funeral rite during the late Bronze Age.

The deceased was cremated on a rectangular site known as the ustrinum. The ashes from the cremation were kept in urns sealed with a lid and an outer element which identified them. The set of buried urns is known as an urn field, or camp d’urnes.

Can Missert had become a reference point for later discoveries of urn fields along the Catalan coast until the discovery of Can Piteu - Can Roqueta in Sabadell.
