In 1966, the Association of Friends of Music of L’Hospitalet organized an exhibition of the Estampa Popular group’s collection to resounding success in terms of the public and the number of works sold. The proceeds went to help political prisoners.

Between 1960 and 1980, an anti-Franco opposition movement crystallised, which became a leader and paradigm, and a model for other regions. The history of the democratic transition was marked by harsh repression of opposition to the regime, which at that time operated underground. The opponents (residents of L'Hospitalet) included political, trade union and cultural activists from the republican tradition, along with anarchists, libertarians and communists.
