Muxart seeks the essence of painting, knowing that he can only achieve surprising minor revelations within the great paradigm of art

To Muxart, painting is more important than life and only understood through exercise and effort. This is not painting to live, but rather living and painting.

Thematic series allow him to produce several pieces at the same time as a vital and creative fever. He combines spontaneity and rigor, energy and inquiry. The studio becomes a dynamic space where the artist carries out a choreography of scattered gestures and glances.

Without tiring the retina of eyes spent in the effort to look from deep within, he works passionately on his peculiar system of creation, the operation of the spatula, the complexity of colour and the old problems of painting. This philosophy creates iconic universes full of angels, magical mountains in the 'Montserrat' series, fragile butterflies, flowers...

Throughout his career, whatever the motives for painting have been, Muxart is a master at finding a balance between spontaneity and rigor, an example of pictorial attitude, of renewal and discernment, of absolute dedication to the alchemy of painting in the quest for its secrets and essence. His oeuvre is one of the few true examples of avant-garde painting since Abstract Expressionism.
