Perfume brazier with the attributes of the goddess Demeter. Balldovina Tower Museum. Santa Coloma de Gramanet.

Perfume brazier made from fired clay depicting the head of a woman, quite probably the image of the Greek goddess Demeter or the Punic goddess Tanit. It is decorated with the iconographic attributes and symbols associated with Demeter (namely fruit, wheat spigots and birds), and the figure is covered with a headpiece or kalathos. This head of Demeter, found during the digs taking place from 1954 to 1958, measures 14.1 x 10.4 x 1 cm. It has been dated from the fourth to third century BC, and has five perforations on the upper part, possibly meant to hold grain spigots.
