Sculpture of a figure wearing a toga, 1st century BC, stone from El Medòl/soldó, 154 x 52 x 44 cm.

Sculpture of a fugre waering a toga that would have formed part of the funeral monuments along the roads leading to Tarraco.

It is carved as though it were a stele, since the lower part of the legs emerge in relief from a smooth surface. From the way in which the short cloak (pallium or toga exigua) is worn, we may date the sculpture to the late republican period.

The poor quality of the stone and the rough sculptingwere disguised –in Antiquity--  by a coat of painted stucco.
