Exhibition ‘Montmeló, camins i anys’. In the foreground, the entrance to the exhibition and the Neolithic section

This area shows the materials found on a number of prehistoric sites in Montmeló, especially those of a small settlement dating from the upper Neolithic post-cardial period, with boat-shaped hand mills, collars and bracelets of seashells, microlithic tools and a small stone idol with a ‘violin-shaped’ anthropic form. There is also a set of clay items from the late Neolithic Fàcies Véraza site and other stone materials from surface prospections, including a polished stone hand axe. The most important piece in this section is the menhir (Pedra de Llinàs) which was discovered by chance on a building site close to the Congost River and is now on display in the Museum (entrance hall).
