Exhibition ‘Montmeló, camins i anys’. On the left, the display cabinets that constitute the medieval section

This section focuses on the Middle Ages, when a large portion of the land which today constitutes the site of Montmeló belonged to the Monastery of Sant Pere de les Puelles. There is a copy of the act of consecration of the monastery church which contains the earliest mention of the Church of Santa Maria de Montmeló. This church, dating from the Romanesque period, still preserves a fine set of mural paintings from the 12th century which are reproduced in the exhibition. The archaeological finds on display include a collection of medieval ceramic kitchenware from the Can Tabola site.
