Cine NIC projector, first model, Proyectores NIC SA, Barcelona, 1931

The Cine NIC was the first projector of moving images designed to be used by children. Marketed in 1931, it was invented by the brothers Tomàs and Josep Maria Nicolau Griñó from Barcelona.

Based on this initial model and its simple operating mechanism, numerous models and variations were manufactured until 1974, when the factory closed down. Cine NIC Sonor, Cine NIC TV and Super Cine NIC were some of the most famous models.
