This sculpture features Our Lady sitting on a throne, visible from the back of the image, with the Child standing on her left knee. Jesus, dressed in a long robe, gives a blessing with his right hand and holds a bird in the other.

Our Lady is wearing a tunic belted at the waist, with her head covered in a large cloak fastened with a clasp on the chest and she is also wearing a crown. In her right hand she holds an attribute common in Romanesque Marian images which also lasted into the Gothic period: the sphere.

Important parts of the original polychromy have survived: gold touches on the hems and crown.
