The Ebro periodically bursts its banks, reminding us of the force and energy of water and that the river is a living being. The floods disrupt life and sometimes bring tragedy, sweeping away land, animals, houses and human lives. The extraordinary levels reached by the water in various floods are recorded on engraved stones and tiles embedded in walls, façades, doors and farmhouses along the length of the river.
