The Cercs Mines Museum is given over exclusively to the history and technology of coal mining, at the same time serving as an interpretation centre that describes and explores the many close relationships between this fossil fuel and the geological, landscape, economic and human environments of the Alt Berguedà. The mining industry in the comarca of El Berguedà is no longer active; hence the fact that the museum is an interpretation centre that links technology and history.
