The Baix Ter wetlands, part of the Natural Park of El Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter, are an excellent resting place for some of the millions of migratory birds that cross the Mediterranean. Large quantities of birds hide amongst the reeds of the marshes, among which is the Cetti's warbler. This bird, with  reddish-brown plumage on the head, back, tail and wings, and a white chest and belly, is very difficult to spot among the vegetation. However, thanks to the male's loud, clear nuptial chant its presence is easy to detect.
