Jordi Benito (Granollers, 1951 - Barcelona, 2008) was one of the pioneering Catalan conceptual artists. Between 2003 and 2008, Benito incorporated the scientific language into his works, drawing from mathematical, algebraic and logarithmic formulas to rethink the conflictiveness between human beings and the world. Thus, he reinterprets the Jorge Wagensberg book Ideas sobre la complejidad del mundo (1985), which focuses on interaction between a system and its environment, stressing the uncertainty of the environment and the system’s capacity for anticipation.

All of these ideas, translated into mathematical formulas, are the ones that Benito transferred to his work Meeting Point, projected on the ground of Barcelona’s Provença underground station.
