Main entrance to the museum

A monographic museum for the preservation, study and dissemination of the pottery made and used on the Iberian Peninsula during the past 200 years. The museum has a permanent collection of 6,500 pottery objects from more than 300 representative potteries in 41 provinces of Spain. The permanent exhibition is organised into different floors and four circuits with a total of 4,500 items on display. On the main floor you can see the circuits devoted to the “Uses of Pottery” (linked to water, wine, olive oil, food, etc.), “Potteries” (showing the origin of the items and the styles of the different pottery-making regions) and “The Jug and its Shapes” (which shows 32 typologies or families of this receptacle). On the ground floor you will find the circuit devoted to the “Processes and Techniques of Pottery”, with pictures and materials that demonstrate the tools and actions involved in the pottery-making process.
