The Darder Exhibition explains how taxidermy was performed in the late 19 th and early 20 th centuries, the period when Francesc Darder worked. One of the resources used to is a stuffed animal, in this case a mangabey, with an x-ray that shows you the inside, with the preserved bones, cleaned beforehand, and the wires and padding that shape the specimen so that it looks as similar as possible to a live animal.
