Since 1980, Catalan society has enjoyed its longest period of political self-government in its recent history. Catalonia has also grown in demographic terms at the same time, with extraordinary cultural and social diversity, while its territory has undergone a profound transformation with the improvement of its infrastructures, protection of its environment and expansion of social services. Today there are more of us than ever, we are older, more diverse and more autonomous, with a competitive economy and public services... but do we all have the same rights? Do we all have the same opportunities? Are we more satisfied?

This area has a long audiovisual film, with the title Catalunya.cat, which presents a synthesis of the history of Catalan society, from the death of Franco to the present day, without overlooking the close relationship between the historical dynamic of the Spanish state as a whole and the rest of the world.

Finally, the Museum invites the visitor to participate in an interactive questionnaire revolving around some central issues in the changes in contemporary Catalan society.
