The collection at the Sabadell Art Museum begins around the 1930’s with significant inherited items and donations from local artists and collectors that make up the bulk of an archive that has been growing with new acquisitions to the present day.

It is a collection that represents the artistic evolution of the city in which we can follow the careers of the main artists and movements, with significant contributions from artists from around the country.

The permanent exhibition presents a significant selection of works and artists from the collection dating from the final quarter of the last century up to the Spanish civil war. The itinerary is arranged into two themed and chronological fields that put the local production in context and explain the general historical framework, which are the Academic forms of the 19th century and the Art Nouveau of the 1930’s.
