Belt buckle, Roman and Visigothic necropolis of El Pla de l’Horta (Sarrià de Ter, Gironès), 6th century AD

This necropolis is next to the Roman villa of El Pla de l’Horta. To date, 79 graves have been located there. It was excavated in several phases between 2004 and 2006. It consists of different types of graves: tiled coffins, stone slabs, brick and mortar and a monumental funeral edifice. The oldest part (3rd-5th centuries AD) are those of the necropolis of the Roman villa of El Pla de l’Horta, but the later tombs (6th century AD) from the height of the Visigothic period, have not been associated with any known dwelling.
