Polished stone axe dated between 4200 and 3200 BC Necropolis of Bòbila Bellsolà (Santa Perpètua de Mogoda)

This axe, taken from a burial site, was found as part of a trove buried with an individual placed in a foetal posture in a grave. It is 14.6cm long and 5cm wide, with ridges running down both sides, intended to make it fit better into a wooden handle.

Considering its size, how it has been worn down and the marks of use on the cutting edge, it seems to have been used as an axe to cut down trees and clear land for farming.
