In 1960, at a construction site on Carrer de Navarra in Manresa, an elephant tusk (an incisor which is usually called a “canine tooth”) was found, which can be attributed to the extinct Elephas antiquus.
This tusk was found amidst the gravel in the river banks of Els Cigalons hill. The fact that it is an isolated remain which reached its location carried by the river prevents us from confirming that it comes from this species instead of another of its contemporary species.
