During the Neolithic period a new economic system based on agriculture and stockbreeding was introduced. This led to the appearance of pottery vessels, polished stone axes, sickle teeth, grinding stones, bone awls and basketry. Some small family clans lived in caves, although most built huts in the open air.
In La Conca, Neolithic tombs with personal objects and votive items have been discovered, evidence of a belief in life beyond the grave.
