Head of Jean Cocteau, Apel·les Fenosa. Apel·les Fenosa Museum, El Vendrell.

The main collectors of Fenosa’s works were great artists of the 20th century, especially Picasso and Jean Cocteau. This poet was always a great support to the Catalan sculptor. Fenosa made a portrait of him on several occasions. In this case, the portrait dates from the year 1939. Cocteau is shown with a laurel wreath, and the work was done at his home at the time of the German occupation of Paris. The portraits that Fenosa made of Coco Chanel and Pablo Picasso are from this time.
