Current-day fabrics also contribute to the production of renewable and more sustainable energy sources. In order to achieve maximum energy efficiency, the blades of a windmill should be as long and wide as possible. Therefore, fibre glass fabrics are used in combination with special resins to obtain these hollow blades, which can be shaped in the most convenient manner. They are very light and resistant structures which maximize the strength of the wind to make them rotate.
